Recently, there has been much coverage in the press about the horrible suffering brought about by Catholic priests who have betrayed the trust placed in them by children in their parishes. We are heavily involved in the ongoing litigation against the Catholic Church and have handled a number of similar sexual abuse cases over the years. In addition to having the trial experience, resources and knowledge necessary to handle these cases effectively, we also have close relationships with therapists and support groups who are available to help victims of sexual abuse get their lives back on track.

In 2002, in response to the scandal involving the Catholic Church, the California legislature rewrote the statute of limitations in sexual abuse cases. Under certain circumstances, victims of abuse that occurred many years ago may now bring lawsuits against the perpetrators, and the organizations that employed them, for a limited period of time during 2003. We are available to advise victims concerning their legal rights under the new statute. This is a rare opportunity for victims to obtain justice for wrongs that were committed against them in their youth, but it is necessary to act promptly.
